Corporate Health, Safety and Environment Policy

Babaji Shivram believes that all accidents are preventable. The management of Babaji Shivram is committed to the occupational health and safety of every person involved in our operations as well as the protection of the environment.

Babaji Shivram recognizes that it can eliminate accidents, occupational health problems and unsafe practices only if all employees and sub-contractors are aware that they are themselves responsible for their own safety and the safety of others at their work place.

To nurture a culture of health, safety and environmental conservation in the organization, Babaji Shivram focuses on:

Providing a secure, safe and healthy work environment to employees, sub-contractors and any other people visiting our work sites.

Integrating occupational health, safety and environmental conservation in all decisions and activities and supporting any employee, contractor or visitor who stops an operation if that is found to be detrimental to HSE.

Avoiding or minimizing any kind of adverse effect on the environment due to operations or any other activity of the organization. Promoting HSE awareness among employees, subcontractors and other agencies to ensure that they understand and accept responsibility for their own safety and that of others around them.

Undertaking risk assessment and controls to reduce risk levels as low as reasonably practicable.

Creating awareness of the hazards and risks associated with all the company operations and taking appropriate safety measures.

Promoting the use of leading indicators when setting HSE objectives and participating proactively with emphasis on prevention rather than correction.

Carrying out regular inspections and audits of all our operations, facilities and those of our sub-contractors and suppliers.

Providing necessary information, education, training and retraining to employees, including subcontractor employees, on occupational health, safety and environmental conservation wherever required.

Making all necessary and practicable arrangements to ensure compliance to this policy. Taking into account HSE performance of individuals at different levels while considering their career advancement.

Ensuring that all subcontractors, transporters and other agencies follow the company safety rules and assume the responsibility as laid down by HSSE for all their activities.

Providing organizational set-up and assigning the responsibilities at different levels for effective implementation of the HSE policy and striving for continual improvement in HSE performance.

This Policy is written in good faith in the best interests of all customers, employees, subcontractors, suppliers and other agencies associated with the organization. The top management of Babaji Shivram and the safety committee are ultimately responsible for the effective implementation of this policy. This policy will be reviewed as and when required.

See our journey so far.
